I recently went and saw the movie "Freetown". What an incredible movie. I was moved to tears SO MANY TIMES.
The scene that really killed me was when they were hiding from the rebels in an old church. The two missionaries were laying there, looking up at the ceiling, feeling an utter sense of desperation. The one missionary then turned to the other and started quoting Alma 40:12 which reads:
12 And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.
What better promise can we have? And he continued to ask, why can't this paradise be right now on earth? Why wait until death? This just hit me so hard. So amazing.
Anyways. Go see the movie. Ya.
